After countless times of getting glue all over the rim I decided to try something new. Last fall I used the masking tape method when I aquasealed my cross tubulars. I thought I might try it out for gluing my road tubies too. It works great. Only really adds 5min to a glue job and its really makes everything much cleaner.

Thanks for the tip. I've always been in awe of anyone who can get a tubular glued on without gooping up the rim. I know I never managed it.
